I was asked to design the logo for a new architectural design competition created by the American Institute of Architecture, California.

The challenge was to create a logo that combined a sense of the established AIA CA logo of an eagle in a box with a mark that conveyed a youthful, modern feel. The Emerging Professional Design Competition allows up-and-coming new architects to design solutions for issues created by earthquakes and homelessness. I explored several possibilities for the mark but, ultimately, the mark of the origami bird won. (My personal favorite!)
